Botox® Cosmetic is an effective solution to treating fine lines and preventing facial wrinkles from deepening through minimally invasive injection. These injections are made from botulinum toxin A, a therapeutic muscle-relaxing agent approved by the FDA for several different uses. When injected into the skin, it can block the nerve muscles that are responsible for the repetitive actions that cause fine lines and wrinkles, smoothing them away for a younger and more refreshed appearance.

WHAT DOES BOTOX® COSMETIC TREAT?

Botox® Cosmetic treats moderate to severe lines and wrinkles usually between the brows, the forehead, around the eyes (crow’s feet), chin, neck and more. There are many ways Botox® Cosmetic can be used to soften lines and relax the downward pull of gravity. The typical Botox® Cosmetic treatment lasts between 3-6 months, depending on how quickly the body metabolizes the substance. Talk to your provider about all of your concerns.

HOW MANY BOTOX® COSMETIC TREATMENTS DO I NEED?

Botox® Cosmetic works in one treatment but the number of units per patient varies based on the following:

  • Areas Treated
  • Face Shape and Size
  • Personal Aesthetic Goals
  • Muscle Strength
  • Pre-Existing Facial Wrinkling

The correction is temporary (lasting 3-6 months) and you will require future treatment to maintain optimal results.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT POST BOTOX® COSMETIC?

Immediately after treatment, the injection site will have a small welt that will disappear before you leave the office. The appearance of your wrinkles will improve within 3-5 days. The results of Botox® Cosmetic injections typically last up to 3-6 months, with some patients reporting results lasting up to a full year.
